Kim-Wu *animated*

I had no idea how I was going to do the clouds in the background, but I found a tutorial on how to animate clouds coming towards the camera. In Photoshop I made a PSD file with four layers of clouds. Then I imported the PSD file into After Effects.
From there I created a 3D camera in which I could animate the clouds moving towards the screen. Then I converted the clouds to 3D objects. I staggered the time frames so that they all didn’t come toward the screen at once. Lastly, I adjusted the X coordinate which tilted the plane upwards. That gave the clouds that fast, wispy look.

After that I just duplicated the layer a few times and used different blending modes on each to give the clouds more depth.
As always I used the puppet warp tool to animate Kim-Wu herself. I used built-in plug-ins from After Effects to create the mist and snow effects. I’m getting better at these animations, but I still have a long way to go.
